OK. Your website should have plenty of content, at least 10 pages, and that content should be “keyword rich”. Here is an interesting discussion about SEO. (note: this is not a recommendation for the sevices of the guy doing the video. I am posting it for the information he provides.)

Getting Ranking – More About Original Content

Previously we talked about content and the need for that content to be original content and not duplicated from another website. Search engines easily identify duplicated content and if your website has duplicated content the site won’t get ranked.

Let’s say you have a third party write your website’s content. How do you determine if the content is copied from another website? What you don’t know can hurt you. It would be a drag and a tremendous waste of money to promote a website that has no chance of getting a search engine ranking because of the duplicated content. There is a simple solution and it is cheap. Just to Copyscape.com and check your content. You can check the content before it is published online for a tiny fee. An entire website could be checked for under $5.00. It’s well worth it.

OK. So the content must be original and you should have a bunch of it. The main content part of the website should be at least 10 pages, preferably more.

And the content should contain a good amount of the “keywords” that are relevant to the subject of your website. These keywords are terms that folks will use as search terms when doing a search on the search engines.

Here is a good example: On this website http://www.hairloss-productreviews.com/index.html the relevant keywords are “hair loss”, “preventing hair loss” and so on. Check out each page of the website and see how the relevant keywords in this website are integrated into the content. This is critical to proper search engine optimization.

Getting Ranked - Content Is King

A critically important aspect of any website is content. You need a bunch of it and…very important…it MUST be “original content”.  Search engines immediately see “duplicated” content and if your website has too much of it, your site will not get ranked.  If you copy and paste content from other websites you are doomed to internet obsurity. You are DOA (dead on arrival).

If you website does not get highly ranked, it is of no value because nobody will ever see it.

So your website must be properly search engine “optimized”. Having plenty of good original content is step number one. Good original content makes your website search engine friendly and user friendly.

After all, the goal here is to (1) get folks to find your website (2) get them to stay on it and visit various pages and (3) get them to do something like call you or buy your products…i.e. take some kind of action.

Also remember this …”replicated” websites will not get ranked. If they do if won’t be for very long. The problem is they have duplicated content.

So step number one is put together plenty of interesting ORIGINAL content.
